From the minute I heard from Hinalei that she was pregnant, I was already dreaming up of her lifestyle newborn session. I could see it in my head. All 5 of them cuddling on the bed, playing, snuggling, and just creating new memories with little sis.
Wrangling up 3 kids under 3 is no easy feat.
And don’t get me wrong, the session turned out so beautiful. But I can’t lie, I was a little nervous.
Taui was a dream. She practically slept through the whole session. Even when she did wake up, I don’t think I heard her cry once.
But her siblings weren’t too interested in taking photos that day.
One of my favorite parts of doing lifestyle sessions (besides the beautiful images you get in an intimate setting) is that kids are in their safe spaces. They have more freedom to go play, watch a show, take a break, do whatever it is that they need during the session.
I loved it when Colton was tickling Eli and Sway. Sure, we didn’t get to capture a lot of “sit pretty and smile at the camera” pics. But looking back at these photos, they will remember how their dad loved to play with them.
For those who want to see how big Eli and Sway have gotten, here is their session from when Sway was 3 months old.
Also for those wondering, Taui’s oh so cute knotted gown is a Copper Pearl from The Curious Bear Book & Toy shop in University Place.
I can’t wait to watch Taui grow alongside her big brother and sister. They are going to have so much fun and they already love her so much!
Hinalei and Colton, thank you for allowing me into your home to capture your sweet family.
