One of my favorite things is to help make a mom’s dream come true, and for this mom, her dream was to have their family photos at Mt. Rainier. 

Aislynn, (who is an incredible photographer herself, go check out her work!), and I went location scouting at Mt. Rainier a few years ago. We took quick photos of each other, and since that day, she has dreamed of bringing her whole family up the mountain.(Click here to see that photo scouting session and cute photos of baby Owen!!).

The Location – Lake Tipsoo

Just two hours from Tacoma, Tipsoo Lake is an easy drive packed with absolutely gorgeous views. 

For those with littles who worry about bathroom locations (like me), there is a bathroom in the parking lot right next to the lake. The lake itself has a nice paved path that goes all the way around and is a short easy walk. 

We hit it during wildflower season and it did not disappoint! 

The mosquito’s were a little pesky, so bring lots of bug spray and be prepared to be itching for the next week. 

The Session

It was such a beautiful evening. The sun was shining down on us with that fresh mountain air whisping through our hair. Everything about this session was perfect. My favorite part was how their toddler kept calling the mountain “Mt. Reindeer”, and jumping up and down saying “We’re taking family po-toes!!!”. 

I am so glad we were able to make this dream session come true for the Clark Family! I know taking photos with littles can be stressful, but to have a dream, create memories, and watch it all come together is just magical!
