As a Tacoma Newborn Photographer, there is no greater honor than getting to photograph my friends for not one, but for two newborn sessions. Ellen and I met when we were first both pregnant. We were in similar phases of life and immediately we clicked and bonded. Getting to capture their family over the years has been one of my greatest joys. I can now officially add crying to my list of “things I’ve done at a newborn session I never thought I’d do”. It was the moment with Ellen and all three of her rainbow babies snuggling up with her (you’ll know the picture when you see it below!). I have seen firsthand how hard Ellen and Chris fought to grow their family. Infertility is such a hard journey, and to see them all together now made me tear up.
Just after that, I had all the girls cuddle up with Dad. Behind me, I heard sniffles. I turned to see Ellen wiping away a tear as she said “This is what it’s all about”. But isn’t that the truth though? This is what it’s all about. Family. Togetherness. Determination. Never giving up. Love.
Newborn sessions like this is why I love what I do. These tiny, fleeting moments are filled with deep meaning, connection, and love. On top of that, these families get to hold onto these photos forever and pass them down to their children as they grow. What could get better than creating memories and passing down heirlooms?
